“My philosophy of art is personal and shows a humanistic approach to the world,” Rhoda wrote in a press release. “The art world affects me as an artist as well as an art educator.”
Her artwork includes painting, drawing, design, mixed-media, fused glass jewelry and larger pieces. She has also done murals in homes located in Florida and California.
“These opportunities allowed me to work on a larger surface and use a room as my canvas,” she said.
She worked in New York for 13 years and has shown her work there and in Boston, Miami, Orlando and the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a member of the Aromas Hills Artisans.
Her husband, Chaz, worked as a commercial, advertising and fashion photographer for many years in New York. He has worked with Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis and Donna Karan. His photographs have appeared in Vogue, Look and Life Magazines. He also served as the fashion art director at the Ladies Home Journal.
He has photographed such people as John F. Kennedy, Truman Capote, Mel Brooks, Mick Jagger, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and more.
His recent photographs are focused on landscapes, architecture and animals.
