Hollister – The Pinnacles National Monument east side visitor center moved its operations to the park’s campground store Monday, monument officials announced. Monument visitors will now begin their journey into the park from the campground, which is closer to the park’s eastern boundary near Highway 25.

Fees for entrance and camping will be collected at this new location, and the center will sell books, educational materials and camp store items.

The east side visitor center will become the Bear Gulch Nature Center, but will continue to display exhibits, offer educational opportunities and sell books.

Signs directing visitors to the center’s new location should be changed by late November, park officials said.

The Pinnacles Visitor Center phone number will be 831-389-4485, but the monument’s business number will change to 831-389-4486.
