Death threats

Sophia Louise Lamas, 23, a transient, was arrested by Hollister police around 12:25pm on Tuesday for issuing death threats, a felony, after she became upset that a San Benito County Superior Court judge awarded guardianship of her 2-year-old daughter to the child’s paternal grandparents, police said. At the courthouse Lamas said she would kill her daughter before she let anyone else have her, and was then arrested at her mother’s home in the 900 block of Del Rio.

Driving under the influence

Lance J. Brown, 41, of 1521 Memorial Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, as he was pulling into his driveway at 7:36pm on Tuesday.

All persons named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
