Outstanding warrants, Buena Vista Road

At 7:27 p.m. on Thursday, police stopped a suspect for a using a cell phone while driving near the intersection of Buena Vista Road and Westside Boulevard. Police found he had two confirmed warrants and placed him under arrest for the San Benito County warrant. Before police searched the car, he told police that there was marijuana in the car. The suspect was cited for using his cell phone while driving and possession of marijuana, and was arrested for the outstanding warrant.

Obstruction of justice, Crestview Drive

At 6:30 on Wednesday, the father of Hollister female juvenile reported that his daughter had run away. Police contacted her, found that she was safe and found her whereabouts. Upon arriving at the scene, the female was found in a car. Police asked her to get out of the car, and she became defiant. The officer went to get her out of the car and had her hands slapped away by the suspect. The suspect became combative and was finally handcuffed and taken to juvenile hall. She was charged with obstruction of justice.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Grand theft, Sadies Court

On Feb. 10, a resident left his bicycle in the driveway on the 2600 block of Sadies Court and went in for dinner. Upon returning outside, he realized the bike was missing. After a few days, the resident heard from a friend that the bike was being ridden by someone. He asked the suspect about it and was told not to report it. A report was made to the police on Thursday at 8:21 p.m., and the case is still under investigation.

Minors in possession of alcohol, Monterey Street

At 10:35 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to San Benito High School on the 1200 block of Monterey Street after security had found four suspects drinking on school grounds. A 21-year-old Hollister male had purchased a 40-ounce bottle of beer for himself and was drinking it at the school. The three other minors were also drinking the beer. The 21-year-old was cited for bringing alcohol on school grounds while the two Hollister juveniles and the other 19-year-old female minor were cited for possession of alcohol.
