Auto theft

A Ford Explorer was stolen from the Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital parking lot between 10:30am and 4:43pm Wednesday, the Hollister Police Department said. The driver door had a coded entry panel but the keys had been left inside, police said.

Arrests

Burglary

Anthony Maher, 18, of Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of burglary, a felony, after police received a call from 7-Eleven on San Benito Street in Hollister at 12:01am Friday, police said. Maher is accused of taking two 18-packs and one 30-pack of Bud Light, worth $58, police said.

Drug possession

Alejandro Hurtado, 28, of the 800 block of C Street, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony; bringing a narcotic into a jail, a felony; possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court after deputies stopped him in at Central Avenue and Rossi Court in Hollister at 11:30pm Thursday. After arresting Hurtado for the warrant, deputies escorted him to the San Benito County Jail where he was searched, deputies said. A baggie containing 2.89 grams of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine smoking pipe fell out of his socks at the jail, deputies said.

Fabian Maduena, 19, of Santa Nella, Calif., was arrested by deputies on suspicion of marijuana possession with intent to sell, a felony, and committing a felony while on bail or recognizance, a felony, after deputies stopped him for running a stop sign in the 400 block of Second Street in Hollister at 3:45pm Wednesday, deputies said. Maduena was unlicensed, and upon searching his vehicle deputies found 28.69 grams of marijuana in Fruit by the Foot bags, deputies said.

Drunken driving

Dianne Theresa Bedard, 51, of the 800 block of Haydon Street in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped her for a traffic violation on San Juan Highway south of Anzar Road at 8:49pm Thursday, according to the CHP.

Rafael Aguado Morales, 23, of the 1000 block of Sunset Drive in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him for a traffic violation on Buena Vista Avenue west of Westside Boulevard at 9:35pm Thursday, according to the CHP.

Juan Reyes Vizcarra, 30, of the 1100 block of San Benito Street in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him for a traffic violation in the 800 block of San Benito Street at 10:59pm, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
