Police are searching for a Hollister resident who has been
charged with forcible rape and sodomy by the San Benito County
District Attorney’s Office.
Hollister police issued a warrant for Sergio Delgado, 28, who is
being charged with rape by force or fear, domestic violence,
sodomy, and oral copulation in concert with force, which are all
felonies, according to San Benito County Superior Court
documents.

Hollister police issued a warrant for Sergio Delgado, 28, who is being charged with rape by force or fear, domestic violence, sodomy, and oral copulation in concert with force, which are all felonies, according to San Benito County Superior Court documents.
He also is being charged with preventing a witness from cooperating with police, a misdemeanor, according to the court.
Delgado allegedly raped an adult female he had a previous relationship with sometime between July 21 and July 22 on the 800 block of Hillcrest Road, according to Hollister Police Officer George Ramirez.
Delgado repeatedly struck the victim and sexually assaulted her throughout the night, according to a police department-issued statement.
“It began as an argument and escalated,” Ramirez said. “He allegedly forced himself on her and forced her to have sexual relations against her will.”
Police responded to the residence around 9 a.m. on July 21 because neighbors had reported hearing a loud argument from inside the home, Ramirez said.
When police responded, they spoke to the victim, who reported nothing to the officers, Ramirez said.
“There didn’t appear that any crime had been committed,” he said.
The next day, the victim notified police of the rape, he said.
“She was then transported to a San Jose-area hospital by a detective,” Ramirez said. “Her injuries were not life-threatening, but a SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) exam was performed.”
Delgado is described as a Hispanic adult male, 5’9″ tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Delgado has connections in the Fresno area and is believed to have possibly fled to Mexico, according to police.
