Police seized 300 pounds of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine today worth an estimated $80 million at a Gilroy residence at the corner of Roop Road and New Avenue.

Three men were arrested at a home on the corner of Roop Road and New Avenu at what police said appeared to be an operation linked to a Mexican drug cartel.

Dozens of marked and unmarked police cars swarmed the home in a multi-agency effort that included the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department, state drug agents, the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Department and Gilroy police.

Drugs were being processed and packaged at the Gilroy location according to Sacramento Sheriff’s Department Lt. Fred Links.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in 30 years,” said Links.

Raids in conjunction with the year-long investigation were also being conducted in Modesto and multiple Sacramento area location, said Links.

Big basins filled with raw crystal methamphetamine amazed the officers on the scene.

The three men arrested, unidentified yet, were taken to Santa Clara County jail.
