Good friends and co-workers Ruth Angulo, left, and Teresa Galindo will be retiring Thursday from the United States Post Office in Hollister. Angulo has been there 29 years and Galindo has been there for 33 years.

Two Hollister Post Office workers have delivered long careers, but are ready to retire.

Ruth Angulo and Teresa Galindo are retiring after those careers at the Post Office on Maple Street. Angulo has worked 29 years as a clerk-distributor, sorting letters and putting parcels in post office boxes. She did her work behind the scenes away from the bustling front area.

“They don’t let me up front,” she joked.

Angulo said she developed a lot of friendships but she’s also “ready to leave.”

Galindo is retiring after 33 years as a window clerk, or sales associate.

“I’ve always just liked working at the post office,” she said.
