The Hollister council Monday will consider a proposal to establish a police reserve unit in the city, according to the agenda for the meeting.
Council members are scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.
Among the agenda items, the council will look into authorizing the chief of police to establish a police reserve unit to increase law enforcement resources. The estimated cost – for equipment – is $22,000, according to the agenda.
Additionally, the agenda includes a discussion of whether the city should be included in a “feasibility study” about moving into a Community Choice Aggregation energy program.
City officials at the meeting will consider several measures involving labor union negotiations with Service Employees International Union Local 521, including authorizing a professional services agency to engage with the union over negotiations for the city as well as a contract between the union and the city about a bargaining agreement.
