Dear Editor,

We have many friends who will not be attending The Hollister Motorcycle Rally in 2008. We have been to a few of Seth Doulton’s various motorcycle events. He seems like a very nice person. However, none of his events I have seen has ever attracted the amount of motorcycle riders as Hollister had when the layout had the bikes parked down the main street. In 2007 bikers rode in to see the new setup with vendors on the main street instead of the bikes. From what I heard, they were not happy at all parking their bikes around a corner out of view. There was no electricity in the air as in previous years. Since when did T-shirt tents take main stage to motorcycles? This is not supposed to be a tent rally. The motorcycles are supposed to be the highlight of the event, not T-shirt tents. Like one person said,”You had a big rock concert and you put all the concessions on the main stage and the the star performers huddled off around in some corner playing.” Not very exciting. Not to mention you would tick off the performers and onlookers. Mr. Doulton can give all of the reasons he wants why he is changing the rally date to a week later and the tent city layout. Bottom line: Put the bikes back on the main street or there won’t be much of a rally in the future.
