Union Pacific wraps up its work on crossings
Union Pacific is finished with its work on railroad sections in
Hollister.
U.P. had planned to do nearly $2 million in improvements in the
Hollister area and did it over about a month period. The company
did work at Hudner Lane, Wright Road, Third Street, Second Street
and East Street, Fourth Street and South Street. Much of the work
involved replacement of rail ties and concrete panels. The city is
performing some paving along with it as well, while the county and
city will assist each other with paving and manpower on their
respective portions of the line.

City Manager Clint Quilter told the Pinnacle that U.P.s railway work is “essentially complete” and said the paving work – to be done by the city – will be combined with another paving project to “achieve some economy of scale” in the bidding. He said that work should be done in late May or June.
