I’ve often noticed how short putts get pulled to the left. It’s not just me, my golf friends do it too. When I pay close attention, I discover that we tend to quit with the left hand and try to continue the stroke with the right.

This ends up closing the club face and also causes deceleration.

If you are one of the guilty ones, you might try hitting some putts with just your left hand. This will make you continue through the stroke. Try to imagine hitting the putt with the back of your left hand.

After a few efforts, put both hands back on the club but still try to lead with the back of the left hand.

For more help with your putting, see your local PGA or LPGA golf professional.
