Hollister – Locals with something to say to their representatives in the state and federal government will get their chance in August.

First, Assemblywoman Anna Caballero will be holding an open house 4pm to 5:30pm at the Briggs Building, 365 Fourth St.

Caballero’s district manager Robert Rivas said the event won’t have a specific agenda or structure. Instead, locals will get a chance to tell the state assemblywoman about anything that’s on their minds.

The open house will take place in Caballero’s satellite office in the Briggs Building. Starting this week, Rivas hopes to give the assemblywoman a stronger presence in Hollister by working out of the local office one day per week.

“A lot of people aren’t even aware that we have a satellite office in Hollister,” Rivas said.

And even if you’re more worried about the goings on in Washington, D.C., don’t fret. You’ll get a chance to pick the brain of Rep. Sam Farr, D-Carmel, who will be making several stops in the region over the next few weeks, including a Hollister town hall meeting 6:30pm to 8:30pm Aug. 22 at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St., in Hollister.
