Emergency workers tend to the driver of the truck Monday morning on North street.

A man was injured around 11:30 a.m. Monday when he tried stopping a truck from rolling down the hilly North Street in Hollister before the vehicle knocked over a telephone pole and ultimately rested against part of the Ranchers Feed building.
The Chevy truck rolled backward on North Street, running over the man’s leg and hitting a pole, before coming to a stop at the corner of the store’s building at 354 First St.
Hollister police Capt. David Westrick said the man got out of the truck and then realized it was still in gear.
Emergency responders after the accident treated the victim up the hill near the site where the truck had stopped.
The victim’s identity and status were not immediately clear.
