Aaron Hsia-Coron recorded a first-place time of 17:44, teammate Diego Leon followed with a second-place finish in 18:51, and the Anzar boys cross country team defeated Pacific Collegiate 22-36 in a Coastal Athletic League dual meet Thursday at Gavilan College in Gilroy.

Miguel Vega finished fifth for Anzar in 19:39, while teammates Greg Bissell (20:15) and Josiah Garza (21:34) took sixth and eighth place for the Hawks, respectively.

The Anzar girls, meanwhile, competed with only four runners, and therefore did not compile a team score.

Nevertheless, Anzar’s Valerie Quezada still finished in first place with a time of 24:29, while teammate Emily Wilkinson was fourth in 27:19 and Melissa Weckerle was fifth in 27:30. Crystal Ruiz-Rocha rounded out the team with an eighth-place finish in 30:32.

Pacific Collegiate compiled 27 points in the race.
