Rocha is shown in the hospital.

San Benito High School’s senior class is holding a walk-a-thon fundraiser to help Jose Rocha, a senior who was diagnosed with leukemia on Valentine’s Day.
The event will be held on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the football stadium at 1220 Monterey St.
The proceeds from the event will go to help his family cover his medical expenses.
“The senior class came up with this,” said Catalina Lemos, the activities director for the school. “They (Jose’s family) need help.”
She said Jose is currently living at Ronald McDonald House trying to keep up with his studies.
“We have a lot of staff members donating,” she said.
Frankie Sanchez, a senior organizing the event, said he has known Rocha since elementary school and said the news of his illness was “devastating,” he said in an email to the Free Lance.
“We wanted to get the community involved as much as possible,” he said.
