Stimac-Fimbrez

Jessica Stimac, daughter of Len and Jeannette Stimac of Gilroy, and Manuel Fimbrez, son of Arnold and Bernadette Fimbrez of San Jose, will be married June 24 at The Emile Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill. The couple met during the summer of 2000 and have been together ever since. Jessica is a 2003 graduate of Gilroy High School and will be working in Solano County as a surgical technician. Manuel is a 2001 graduate of Live Oak High School and is finishing his last year in the U.S. Air Force, currently stationed at Travis Air Force Base. After spending their honeymoon in a romantic seaside resort near Ixtapa, Mexico, the couple will reside in Vacaville, Calif. The maid of honor is Dena Gonzales, and the best man is Bill Klauer, both of Gilroy.

Weddings

Vis-Levario

Misty Vis and Daniel Levario were married May 7 at United Methodist Church.

Misty is the daughter of Donald Vis and Joyce Seller of Ripon and Hollister. Daniel is the son of Carol and Augustine Levario.

The maid of honor was Christie Lamb. Jennifer Allen, Elaine Levario, Megan Asp, Debra Tollefon, Candace Brighton and Dakota Watson served as bridesmaids.

The best man was Doony Vis. Gabri el Levario, Matt Levario, Dario Levario, Todd Allen and Daniel Bangham served as groomsmen. Timothy Bangham and Doony Vis Jr. served as ring bearers. Amber Bangham and Courtney Vis served as flower girls.

Brown-Martens

Lori (Perkins) Brown and Dane Martens, both of Gilroy, were married on Feb. 12, 2005.

Lori is the daughter of Marie Perkins and the late Ed Perkins of Gilroy. She graduated from Gilroy High School and is employed by Temple-Inland. Dane is the son of Sari Martens and the late Roy and Helen Martens of San Francisco. He is employed by Cisco Systems.

A late afternoon ceremony took place in South Lake Tahoe, overlooking snow capped mountains. The bride was given away by her mother and her brother, Robert Perkins. The couple shared their vows, uniting both families, while surrounded by family and close friends.

The maid of honor was Jeanie Hannibal, longtime friend of the bride. Anna and Kasey Perkins, nieces of the bride, performed the duties of flower girls.

The best man was Dan Rose and the groomsman was Rick Rose, Dan’s son. Both men are hunting and fishing buddies of the groom for many years.

After the ceremony, the couple, friends and family enjoyed a seafood buffet.

The couple spent their honeymoon with their children on a family snow trip, including snow mobiling and snowboarding.

They have made their home in Gilroy.

Military

Keith Spencer

Seaman Keith Spencer of Gilroy graduated from the United States Coast Guard Training Center at Cape May, New Jersey on March 18. He is reporting to Coast Guard Island Investigations Unit in Alameda. He graduated from Gilroy High School in 1998 and attended Gavilan College in June 2003. He is the son of Mark and Patty Spencer, brother of Kristen Spencer and husband of Rebecca Spencer, all of Gilroy.

Gabor M. Csore

Navy Seaman Gabor M. Csore, son of Susie Haddock of Gilroy and Miklos Csore of Sacramento, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Csore completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Janet C. Wolfenbarger

The daughter of a Paicines couple has been nominated by President Bush for promotion to the grade of brigadier general.

Col. Janet C. Wolfenbarger is the daughter of Eldon and Shirley Libby of Paicines. The selection to receive her first star is contingent upon approval by the Senate.

Currently serving as the commander of the C-17 Systems Group, Mobility Systems Wing, Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, Col. Wolfenbarger leads a 40,000 member government and industry team chartered to design, build, test and deploy fully supported production C-17 aircraft.

She entered the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. with the first class of women in 1976. After graduating from the Academy in 1980, she was commissioned a second lieutenant and began her acquisition career as an engineer at Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso, Fla. Follow-on assignments included Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, Md. and the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Her military decorations include the Legion of Merit, four awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.

The colonel earned her master’s degree in 1985 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge.

Jason Anders

Jason Anders, 17, of Gilroy, will graduate from Monte Vista Christian School and will be attending the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., beginning June 28. He was accepted as a midshipman to the academy.

Michael T. Wolfe

Navy Hospitalman Michael T. Wolfe, son of Patricia H. and Danny A. Wolfe of Morgan Hill, recently graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Field Medical Service School, Marine Corps Base in Camp Pendleton, Calif.

During the 14-week course, Wolfe learned a wide range of medical procedures used to provide first aid and assist Navy doctors and nurses. Wolfe also received an introductory instruction for service in a variety of medical environments, from fleet hospitals and shipboard medical departments to fleet Marine forces and medical administration offices.

Wolfe is a 2003 graduate of Live Oak High School of Morgan Hill and joined the Navy in March 2004.

Honors

Neal Oppenheimer

Neal Oppenheimer, a sophomore Administration of Justice major at Gavilan College who holds a 4.0 GPA, won second place in the juvenile law academic competition. Members from the Gavilan College fraternity Lambda Alpha Epsilon attended a conference at Fresno State last semester and one in Memphis in March. Students in the fraternity attend workshops and symposia on a variety of topics in law enforcement and also compete in academic and tactical competitions.

Jennifer Anne Van Gundy

Gilroy resident Jennifer Anne Van Gundy graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English May 7. Van Gundy was joined by more than 1,200 graduates at the spring commencement exercises.
