James and Emily Roberts
James Dylan Roberts and Emily Madison Roberts were born Aug. 6, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D. to Alva James and Jessy Marie (Bird) Roberts. James weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces and Emily weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces.
Rya Paisley Andrade
Rya Paisley Andrade was born July 25, 2012 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital to Kelly and Gary Andrade of Hollister. She weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces.
HONORS
James A. Singleton
James A. Singleton graduated from Emory University with a Ph.D. in epidemiology on May 12, 2012. He is the son of Edward and Roya Singleton, of Hollister. He is a 1978 graduate of San Benito High School.
Singleton will continue working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as chief of the assessment branch, Immunization Services Division. The unit is responsible for evaluating national, state and local immunization programs and runs the National Immunization Surveys, one of the largest telephone surveys in the world.
He has worked with the CDC since 1995. Prior to joining the CDC, he worked for seven years as an epidemiologist with the California Department of Health Services, Office of Aids, in Sacramento. He worked at the University of California, Davis after graduation in the Occupational and Environmental Health Department.
Singleton graduated from UC Davis in 1985 with a master’s in psychology and statistics.
He resides in Suwanee, Ga., with wife Victoria and daughter Ashton. His daughter Sedonia lives in Atlanta and son Kellen lives in Washington, DC.
Rebecca Brogan
Rebecca Brogan, daughter of Ann and James Brogan, has graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in math and a minor in Russian from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, June 2012. She will continue her studies at BYU working towards her MPP degree.
James Edward Inouye
James Edward Inouye, of Morgan Hill, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in general engineering from Seattle Pacific University. Founded in 1891, Seattle Pacific University is a premier Christian university that equips people to engage the culture and change the world.
