It’s tax time in the good old U.S. of A. I hope you’re all on
track to get your taxes done. If you haven’t gotten yours done yet,
you have until Monday, the 18th, to get them in the mail.
Many South County kids participated in the multi district high
school rodeo last weekend in Salinas. Some of those competing from
our area included Blaine and Blair Strohn, Wyatt Nacarrato,
Cheyenne Rey, Kristy Melton, Megan and Tommy Ford, Cash Robinson,
Sierra Sans and Taylor Hurley.

Many South County kids participated in the multi district high school rodeo last weekend in Salinas. Some of those competing from our area included Blaine and Blair Strohn, Wyatt Nacarrato, Cheyenne Rey, Kristy Melton, Megan and Tommy Ford, Cash Robinson, Sierra Sans and Taylor Hurley.

It’s hard to believe that Sierra is a senior this year and will be graduating in a few months. She spent Tuesday evening interviewing for several local scholarships that are being offered to King City High School seniors. The community of King City is known for its generosity with its youth. Sierra will be attending Monterey Peninsula College in the fall, majoring in nursing or sports medicine. Hopefully she will pick up a few scholarships along the way as every little bit helps.

Bitterwater Tully School held its Spring Open House last Monday evening in which many community members attended. The annual Spring Concert and Potluck will take place this Friday evening at Tully Hall. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Thank you to everyone for your calls, cards and concerns over the loss of Betty Sans last week. All of her family and friends were saddened and shocked at her sudden passing. She will be greatly missed.

Snakes are out and about now. Many folks have been reporting multiple sightings of the dreaded rattlesnakes. Keep your eyes open when you’re out and about, especially if you’re pulling weeds!
