Hallelujah! Rains are back
How about that rain last week? We sure had a beautiful storm out
here last Thursday morning. When I left here at 6:45 a.m. to start
the morning bus run, there was just a light drizzle, but half way
through my route, my windshield wipers couldn’t go fast enough and
it hailed so hard I could hardly see. When it was all said and
done, we had .80 inches at our place. What a beautiful day it
was!
Hallelujah! Rains are back

How about that rain last week? We sure had a beautiful storm out here last Thursday morning. When I left here at 6:45 a.m. to start the morning bus run, there was just a light drizzle, but half way through my route, my windshield wipers couldn’t go fast enough and it hailed so hard I could hardly see. When it was all said and done, we had .80 inches at our place. What a beautiful day it was!

Congratulations to Bitterwater Badger Alumni, Mattie Barrington and Caroline Madson who both earned All-League Basketball Honors for the Mission Trails Athletic League last week while teammate Lindsey Lazzoroni earned honorable mention. The Lady Mustangs traveled to San Francisco last Wednesday night to play in their first playoff game. Unfortunately, after a thrilling overtime, the ladies were unable to pull off the victory, losing by only one point. They played tough, though, and had a great season overall.

The Bitterwater Badgers remained undefeated in their South County Junior High League throughout the season. This week, they will travel down to Paso Robles to play in the Daniel Lewis Middle School Tournament. It should be an exciting tournament and the girls are very excited and ready to play. If you’d like to come down and support the Badgers, contact any Badger or the school for times and information. The tournament runs Tuesday through Thursday of this week.

Birthday wishes go out to little Sara Brewen who celebrated her third birthday last week. She had a birthday party last Friday evening at her home with several friends and family members on hand to help her celebrate.

The Bitterwater 4-H Club Swine members traveled to Carmel Valley last Saturday to get their pigs for the Salinas Valley Fair. It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again! First time pig members included Jensen McFarland, Michael Kreihbel and Thomas Veysey. Bitterwater 4-H will have a total of 15 pigs entered this year at the fair.

Speaking of the fair, any young ladies residing in Monterey County who are high school juniors or seniors and would like to compete for the title of Miss Salinas Valley Fair, the entry deadline is quickly approaching for the contest.  The contest will be held April 14, 2007 at the fairgrounds. For more information, contact Marianne Madson or the fairgrounds. Entry deadline for the contest is March 10, 2007.

Have a great week, and, if you have any news you’d like to share, be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at
