An 81-unit subdivision and related, oversized sewer line gained unanimous approval from Hollister City Council members Monday.
Council members voted 5-0 to approve the final map and subdivision improvement agreement with BMC Promise Way for the development planned at Southside Road between San Benito Street and Nora Drive on Rajkovich family property.
Council members delayed the item at their prior meeting after realizing the city had not properly noticed neighbors of the proposed project.
The part of the agreement causing the most attention was installation of an oversized sewer line. The city agreed to take on most of the costs with the intention of getting the funds back through future development reimbursements for new homes along the sewer line.
The total cost for the sewer line is $655,000, according to a staff report. The city will pay 72.8 percent, or about $477,00, while the developer will pay about $178,000 for the line.
