Football: Anzar looks to rebound in league opener

But that’s exactly the situation Anzar High senior Dave Conrath found himself in a 60-0 loss to Fresno Christian last week. Even though the Hawks couldn’t stay with one of the best 8-man football teams in the state, they might have found a potent passing combination in Conrath and tight end Andres Cobian.

For the third straight season, the Anzar High football team has started the year with a roster of 30 players or more. That's actually not too shabby for an 8-man football team. The Hawks play their season opener on Saturday at Fresno Christian, and coach Frank Reyes believes he’s got quality talent in those numbers.
