A worker is shown in the drive-thru area of the new Starbucks on Monday.

Starting May 20, local Starbucks patrons won’t have to get out of their vehicles to pick up drinks.
Hollister’s only standalone Starbucks store is moving across the Nob Hill shopping center parking lot to its new larger location, the former Union Bank building at Airline and Plaza drives across from Burger King.
The building is 5,040 square feet, but the structure will be split into two units. The Starbucks will use 2,000 square feet and is set to include the drive-thru, expanded seating, a community table and small outdoor patio, according to a Starbucks spokeswoman. A city planner previously said Starbucks has plans for about 30 seating areas inside.
The last day at the existing location is May 17. Workers at that 1760A Airline Highway location will transfer to the 1730 Airline Highway site, which will employ 31 people, the spokeswoman said. The existing Starbucks employs 23 people, according to Starbucks.
The new location is set to open at 4:30 a.m. May 20, she said.
She also added that the new location will offer Starbucks Reserve, a collection of coffees selected from small farms all over the world, along with coffee brewed on The Clover system that the company says adds layers to the coffee’s aroma and flavor.
