New San Benito County Supervisor Margie Barrios will be sworn in Jan. 5, along with recently reelected supervisors Jaime De La Cruz and Anthony Botelho.

Barrios starts her tenure on the board while succeeding Supervisor Don Marcus, who did not seek reelection after one term. Barrios has said she will announce her planning commission appointment that day as well.

Additionally, Mike Sanchez will be sworn in as the new county superintendent of schools to succeed Tim Foley, who is retiring mid-term.

The ceremony starts at noon Jan. 5 at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St.
