Supervisors today approved a contract with Sequoia Pacific Voting Systems to purchase a refurbished ballot counting machine.

Officials considered the purchase after delays following the November election. Once purchased, the county will have two of the machines.

“This is a follow-up to the problem we had with the election,” County Administrative Officer Susan Thompson said prior to today’s approval.

The refurbished machine will cost $58,625.
