Hollister police arrested Jose Ricardo Velazquez, 19, of Hollister, a suspect in the rape of a 13-year-old juvenile, according to the Hollister Police Department.
Velazquez has been charged with forcible rape, false imprisonment and lewd acts with a juvenile under 14.
He is being held in the San Benito County Jail on $151,000 bail.
On Feb. 19, police responded to a rape that occurred in Hollister. A 13-year-old juvenile reported being raped by a 19 year old man.
Police conducted an investigation with child protective services and the district attorney’s office. Police detectives identified the man as Velazquez.
Velazquez was located in Gilroy on Feb. 20 by police. Police detectives conducted an interview and he was later arrested.
