So, at 150 yards we think that we should be using a 7 or 8-iron
because that is how far we think we hit it.
Once in awhile, with a tailwind or a good hard bounce, we get
away with it.
So, at 150 yards we think that we should be using a 7 or 8-iron because that is how far we think we hit it.
Once in awhile, with a tailwind or a good hard bounce, we get away with it.
But, in reality, we should be taking more club.
It’s O.K. if you have to use a 5 or 6-iron instead.
Nobody cares.
If you can swing easier and smoother and stay on your feet and get the ball on to the green, you have achieved your goal.
Put the ego aside and use the proper club.
As I have often asked every one of my friends, “When was the last time you hit the ball over the green?”
(skulled shots don’t count)
The answer has always been the same: “Never.”
I rest my case.
