The San Benito Resource Conservation District, in partnership
with Ecology Action will present a series of workshops,

Livestock and Land.

The program will focus on land stewardship, best management
practices, including pasture and paddock management, weed
management, aerated manure composting, mud issues, site planning
and how these issues affect livestock health. In addition to the
presentations by area experts, attendees will also receive
information about free local resources and how to apply for
property improvement funding.

In addition to the presentations by area experts, attendees will also receive information about free local resources and how to apply for property improvement funding.

The three-week series runs Jan. 15, 22 and 29, and Feb. 12. All workshops run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $10 per family. The fee includes workshop materials and a light snack. Workshop scholarships are available.

Jan. 15: Manure management will be held at the Quicksilver Ranch in Hollister, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jan. 22: Mud and erosion management will be held at 101 Livestock, in Aromas, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jan 29: Pastures and paddocks will be held at Slonaker Ranch, in Hollister, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Feb. 12: Livestock best management practices and site planning location to be determined.
