With three consecutive absences from monthly meetings and lacking communication on them, Robert Kutz was facing possible removal from the city’s parks and recreation commission. Shortly before the meeting to consider his removal, however, Kutz offered his resignation, officials announced Monday.
Hollister council members at their Monday meeting were set to consider the action, but it wasn’t necessary. Later in the meeting, council members appointed two new parks commissioners.
A staff report on the item notes that the council will consider removal of Kutz, appointed in April 2013, after he has missed the three consecutive meetings and has not communicated with staff about his attendance.
“Staff has found it difficult to conduct the business of the Commission due to this absence especially because of a vacancy for a youth member.”
Kutz could not be reached immediately.
