Hollister police arrested two residents in connection with the homicide early Saturday, while they are continuing to seek a “person of interest” in the case, according to police.

At 2 a.m. Monday, police arrested a 15-year-old male suspect in connection with the shooting death of Genevieve Destefanis, 14, at Sherwood Drive and East Park Street shortly before 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Police did not name the juvenile suspect, and did not immediately provide information on the second person who was arrested, besides describing the resident as a male juvenile taken into custody as an accessory in connection with the investigation, according to a statement. Both suspects were booked at San Benito County Juvenile Hall.

Police are continuing a search for person of interest Robert Rodriguez, 17, of Hollister.

Police Capt. David Westrick, the department spokesman, said he would provide more information shortly.
