City Hall

Hollister council members Monday will decide on a vice mayor for the next year.

Previously each year, council members would vote for a mayor and then vice mayor. This is the first year, however, in which the city will have a mayor elected by voters and a vice mayor chosen by the council.

Hollister voters in November elected Ignacio Velazquez as Hollister mayor.

Councilman Robert Scattini has been vice mayor for the past year. He indicated that other council members told him they support his reappointment because, he said, he has more time and is more involved than the others.

“If they want me for it, I’ll be more than happy,” Scattini said Friday.
