His mother Sheila Cordova said they heard about the Los Angeles competition through Riptide Tumbling, in Salinas, where Cordova takes tumbling lessons. She said there were a total of 120 kids competing in the dance part of the championships.
Cordova has been taking dance lessons for more than a year, and he performed a popping routine at the Ladd Lane talent show last week.
“It gets real easy when you do it,” Cordova said.
His mother said next year he plans to try out for the television show “America’s Got Talent.”
“He’s going to try out for ‘America’s Got Talent’ and we want to be on ‘Ellen,'” she said.
Cordova said he was a little nervous before the competition, but once he got started he was fine.
“Sammy is a very awesome teacher,” Cordova’s mother said. “He’s dedicate to his boys.”
Cordova performed his dance moves at the 10th Annual Ladd Lane Elementary School talent show last week. He performed a dance routine. Other students performed karate demonstrations, ballet and there was plenty of singing. Some of the students working in pairs coordianted their outfits, while others donned costumes suitable to their talent, such as a tutu on a ballerina.
Teachers Mrs. Raper and Mrs. Carmichael worked with the children to celebrate the end of the school year, showcasing their talent.
