County chamber starts organization aimed at ages 21-40
The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce recently started the new San Benito County Young Professionals group geared toward business professionals between ages 21 and 40, according to the organization.
The chamber hopes to provide a place for young professionals to socialize, network, build relationships and have fun while making a positive difference in the business community, according to a press release from the group. Unlike traditional networking groups, the young professionals will meet in a variety of locations and at different times of the day. This is the only young networking group of its kind in San Benito County.
The group will focus on networking, marketing, community service and learning. This will be a great way for young professionals to mix, mingle and energize one another on growing successful businesses in San Benito County.
There will be an array of meeting opportunities planned – anything from an after-hours social to attending sporting events and attractions. The group also is working on getting a breakfast club together for those professionals who cannot attend in the evening.
The founding members include the chamber staff, Melissa Dassel of Dassel’s Petroleum and Marissa Brennan of San Benito Bank.
They have had several planning meetings and have a kick-off event scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 9, a Thursday, at DeRose Winery.
The cost is $20 payable by cash or check at the door. The group encourages young business professionals to attend and bring a friend. Please call the chamber office for more information at 637-5315.
