For the first time this year, the San Benito baseball team lost a Tri-County Athletic League game Tuesday.

In a pitching duel, the Balers failed to get a hit and fell 1-0.

Josh George was the only Baler to reach base – walking twice. San Benito starter Anthony Ocampo threw well, allowing five hits and one run in six innings. Ocampo struck out four batters.

Salinas scored the game’s only run in the third inning.

The Balers host Salinas at 4 p.m. Thursday.

SBHS Softball

The San Benito softball team stayed undefeated Tuesday, beating North Salinas 13-1 in the season’s first league game.

The Balers, 3-0, return to action Thursday, when they host Salinas at 4:30 p.m.

SBHS Volleyball

Since losing its coach a week ago, San Benito volleyball team has won three-straight matches, including Tuesday’s 3-0 sweep of Seaside.

San Benito dominated, winning its sets 25-14, 25-19, 5-10.

The Balers are 11-2 on the season.
