The Balers used a four-run sixth inning to beat Salinas 5-3 and pull even with the Cowboys for second place in the Tri-County Athletic League on Thursday.

Two days after being no-hit by the Cowboys, San Benito combined for nine hits and five runs. Starter Jack Cabral limited Salinas to three hits and one run in five innings.

San Benito struck first in the opening inning, but Salinas tied the game in the fourth innings.

Thanks to a pair of errors, the Cowboys took the leading the sixth with two runs off relief pitcher Skyler Fuss, who threw two-thirds of an inning and allowed two unearned runs.

San Benito quickly bounced back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Jacob Tonascia led the Balers, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a double. Craig Slibsager, Dalan Hoskins and Marcus Sabatte each drove in a run.

Michael Breen and Josh George finished the game going 2-for-3. Each player scored a run in the game.

The win gives San Benito a 9-3 overall record and a 7-1 record in the TCAL. Salinas and San Benito both trail Palma, who is undefeated at 5-0.
