Parking enforcement

The 90 days of free parking – through Feb. 6 – in downtown Hollister is available in city parking lots only. Street parking time limits are still in effect during the “free parking” months and are being enforced. The city council approved a resolution that suspended the time limits in the city’s downtown lots for the holiday shopping season on Nov. 5. But the timed parking enforcement remains on city streets that are posted with time limits.

There are 374 parking spaces available in downtown parking lots. The lots are located on Fifth Street, between San Benito and Monterey streets; on Sixth Street between East and San Benito streets and San Benito and Monterey streets; on East Street between Sixth and Seventh streets; and on Seventh Street between San Benito and Monterey streets.

Free, untimed parking is available year round in the parking garage, with the entrance on Fifth Street. It is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The garage is monitored by security guards from 2 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
