A quarter-inch of rain is expected from Thursday night to Friday morning in Hollister, but it is not expected to be cold enough to snow.
“There might be a flake or two, but snow is not likely,” Forecaster Steve Anderson said.
Snow is expected to fall in areas around 1,000 feet above sea level across Northern California, including areas around Hollister and the Bay Area, he said. But within the Hollister city limits, which rest around 500 feet about sea level, snow is not likely.
Overnight, the weather is expected to be in the low 30s and high 20s, Anderson said.
From Saturday night to Sunday morning, the temperature is expected to be as low as the upper-20s, but moisture isn’t expected, he said.
“It will be cold,” he said.
The cold weather is coming down from an Alaskan cold front that has been slowly creeping south, sweeping through Oregon and Northern California the past week, Anderson said.
