Want to freshen up your diet with a little green goodness during the sugar-laden holiday season?
Hollister-based Heirloom Organics would like to remind Gilroy, Morgan Hill and Hollister residents about its Community Sponsored Agriculture program; a cost-savvy and reliable way to keep a healthy variety of local produce on the table. Each vegetable box contains lettuces, roots, seasonably available herbs, specialty vine crops and a weekly recipe. One example of a combination includes Bloomsdale and Bordeaux spinach, salad greens, Asian vegetables, heirloom beets, radishes, carrots, sweet onions and other root crops. Boxes can also be customized to patrons’ food allergies. The cost is $25 for a single share box or $40 for a double share. Boxes for large families will be discounted from Heirloom’s normal Farmers’ Market price.
Memberships include weekly or bi-weekly options. Boxes can be picked up at various drop-off locations.
For more information, call (831) 637-8497. Heirloom Organics is located at 743 Shore Road in Hollister.
