The San Benito County Arts Council invites families, residents and art supporters to the third annual “Children’s Art Auction” from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m, Feb. 6 at the Mars Hill Coffeehouse 610 San Benito St. in downtown Hollister, featuring artwork from eight local preschools, music and light refreshments.
Students, teachers and staff from Little Baler, Meadowlark, Methodist, Paddington, Presbyterian Co-Op, Spring Grove, Sunnyslope and Calaveras preschools have been working hard over the last few weeks to create collaborative works of art based on their studies of famous artists, according to the arts council.
According to the group’s announcement on the event:
This project, and learning through the arts, foster creative thinking, fine motor skills and a sense of pride and accomplishment in our youngest learners. Come celebrate the students’ artwork and achievement by joining us on Feb. 6.  All artwork will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the San Benito County Arts Council’s Pre-K Art Program. This program is part of the San Benito County Arts Council’s mission to promote art and culture in San Benito County and is made possible by Hollister Rotary, California Arts Council, Community Foundation for San Benito County and Monterey Peninsula Foundation. For questions or more information please feel free to contact the Arts Council at [email protected] or call at 636-2787.
