The men and women of the Hollister City Firefighters Association will be hosting a fundraising event called “Fill the Boot” on March 14 in Hollister to support local families living with muscular dystrophy.
Firefighters will be in the intersection of Tres Pinos Road and Airline Highway from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 14 collecting money from drivers and pedestrians to benefit more than 1,900 local families served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association, according to an announcement from the organization.
The MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat muscle diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. MDA is the largest nongovernmental sponsor of neuromuscular disease research, according to the statement.
