If you have traveled near the San Benito County Courthouse on
Monterey Street
–between Fifth and Fourth streets – you probably have noticed
the gigantic pothole in the middle of the road. It is hard to miss
because drivers heading toward the Fourth Street corridor out of
town just about have to either drive over the impediment or take
the plunge and test their vehicles’ s
hocks. Ray Rojas, the city’s streets supervisor, noted how the
engineering department each week compiles a new list of potholes to
fix. Rojas said he and city crews will attempt to fix the damage
doer on Monterey Street this week, which would be today. Sometimes
there are not enough people around to
get all of them done during certain weeks, he noted.
