During the 10th anniversary celebration for The Family Tree at Pancho’s Restaurant on Saturday, a fight broke out that eventually spread to the street and led to a Fremont man being airlifted from the scene, according to the Hollister Police Department.

Police said there was a rap concert held at the bar when around 8 p.m., a fight broke out near the bathrooms that quickly spread to the bar. Security started pulling people apart and the fight moved outside, where an estimated 150 people were involved.

At some point after the fight had moved outside, a 27-year-old Fremont man was struck over the head with a chair. The injury was serious enough to warrant him being airlifted to an area hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

Hollister Police Department Spokeswoman Rosie Betanio said persons involved with the fight were uncooperative with police and the initial cause of the fight is still unknown.

“This was an incident just because of the event going on there,” she said.
