received $1,000 from Wells Fargo Tuesday. Company representatives

Every Wells Fargo and Wachovia Bank in Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties selected two schools each to receive a $1,000 grant. The money can be used for school supplies and education programs.
In all, more than $500,000 was given out by the banks nationwide.
