Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting Feb. 14 at an El Cerro Drive residence.

San Benito County deputies arrested a 21-year-old man Friday morning on suspicion of attempted homicide and shooting at an inhabitant while in a vehicle, both felonies, with an enhancement for participation in a criminal street gang, according to San Benito County jail personnel.

He’s at the county jail and had his bail set at $750,000, jail personnel said today.

The suspect also had his work-alternative probation revoked for which he had been serving for a past conviction – battery with a noncohabitant, said jail personnel.

The sheriff’s office reported that on Feb. 14, four or five people targeted a home in the 800 block of El Cerro Drive with gunfire, four of those shots hitting the residence. No one was injured in the shooting.
