Say cheese!
Patrick Dooling poses for a formal portrait in this undated
photo. Dooling was a member of a prominent local family that
included several attorneys. The family name lingers on Dooling
Road, where one of the family’s earliest homes still stands. The
Dooling name also can be found on one of the stained glass windows
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family was one of a handful
that established the church in the 1800s, and donated funds for the
window.
This photo and many others are among the items that can be
viewed at the San Benito County Historical Museum, located in the
Wapple House at Fifth and West streets. Museum hours are 1-3 p.m.
every Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.
