Dear Editor,
If I make bad choices and get bad credit, the banks will not lend me any money.
If bankers made bad choices and get bad credit, the U.S. Treasury will lend them billions of dollars.
Something is very wrong with our government. Perhaps we need to remember this song from the 1920s
“In the winter, in the summer, don’t we have fun? Times are bum and getting bummer, still we have fun? There’s nothing surer, the rich get rich and the poor get poorer, In the meantime, in between time, ain’t we got fun?”
The Great Depression of the 1930s followed hot on the heels of the unregulated lending practices of the 1920s.
