Cheryl Busch, accused of shooting and killing her 19-month-old daughter Nov. 19, made a brief court appearance today during which a jude granted an order keeping her away from her husband while defense attorney Greg LaForge and Deputy District Attorney Anna Marie Padilla agreed on a continuation to set the preliminary hearing date.

Hollister Police Chief Jeff Miller spoke Thursday about a sergeant’s January drunken driving charge getting reduced to reckless driving by telling the Free Lance that internal investigations are under strict confidentiality while noting the officer has a history of outstanding public service.
