Hollister girls dance troupe set for competition
Drop by the West Coast Dance FX studio while the Club FX dance team is practicing and there is proof that the human body can twist, turn and leap in unexpected ways. The team jumps over chairs, flips and moves to a hip hop beat.
The team’s moves are choreographed by Jessalyn Espiritu, who has worked with the girls on the team for two years. Espiritu teaches at West Coast Dance FX in downtown Hollister and practices with the team each Tuesday.
The six girls on the team auditioned for their spots. Club FX will have their chance to make their moves at the Rainbow Connection regional dance competition held Feb. 2-4 at Chabot College in Hayward. Regional winners will face off against each other in July 2007. The team won several awards at the regional level last year and plan to bring more home this year.
