WEDDING
Taylor/Silva
Abby Rochelle Taylor of Salinas and Paul Silva of Salinas, residents of San Juan Bautista, were married July 15, 2006 at Mission San Juan Bautista. A reception was held at Jardines de San Juan in San Juan Bautista.
Abby is the daughter of Mike and Kathy Taylor of Hollister. Paul is the son of Joseph and Ann Silva of Arroyo Grande. The bride is the executive director of Ag Against Hunger and attended UC Davis, and the groom works in information technology for the County of Monterey and attended San Jose State University. The couple took a Pacific coast road trip for their honeymoon.
ENGAGEMENT
Pera/Cooney
Bob Pera and Helayna Cooney were engaged to be married on July 23, 2006 during a trip to Castle Crags State Park in the Shasta Trinity National Forest near Dunsmuir. The couple plans a Sept. 8, 2007 wedding at the Cal-Neva Resort at North Shore Lake Tahoe. Pera is a native of Hollister, and the son of Mike and Marie Pera of Hollister, and the grandson of Bob and Gina Pera and the late Dave and Frances Barrett. Bob Pera graduated in 1996 from Turlock High School and was active in FFA activities. He studied wildlife management at Humboldt State University and has been employed as a game warden with the California Department of Fish and Game.
Helayna Cooney is the daughter of Time Cooney of Resida and Irena Cooney of Frazier Park. Helayna attended Frazier Park High School, class of 1999 and also was active in FFA activities. She studied wildlife management at Humboldt State University and is employed as a wildlife biologist for the California Department of Fish and Game.
The couple lives in Gridley.
Moody/Wilcox
Donald and Sandra Moody of Morgan Hill are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Moody, to Leland Wilcox, son of Phil and Cathy Wilcox of San Jose.
Emily is a 1999 graduate of Live Oak High School and Lee is a 1998 graduate of Leigh High School. The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Santa Clara University, Santa Clara. The groom-to-be is a 2002 graduate from Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park.
A 2007 fall wedding is planned.
ANNIVERSARY
Dan and Carole Ehrler
Dan and Carole Ehrler were married on March 13, 1982, at Ports O’Call in San Pedro. They have two daughters and three granddaughters. Dan is the CEO of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, and Carole is a writer for Wine Country This Week. The Ehrlers took an early 25th wedding anniversary trip to Cabo San Lucas.

Kathy Higginbotham was born March 6, 1914, in Weed and will celebrate her 93rd birthday Tuesday. She has lived in Morgan Hill since 1977.
