Hollister – Police arrested a Hollister man shortly after midnight Saturday on suspicion of dealing methamphetamine, confiscating illegal drugs and several thousand dollars in cash.
Emilio Munguia Servin, 49, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of felony weapon and drug charges on Seventh Street at 12:22am Saturday, officers said. Servin was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest, said Officer Rosie Betanio, a spokeswoman for the Hollister Police Department.
Police Det. Rudy Rodriguez stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Seventh and West streets in Hollister when a man in the front passenger seat fled, Betanio said.
Another patrol car coming to aid Rodriguez spotted a man in the front yard of a home in the 400 block of Seventh Street, police said.
Upon searching Servin, officers found $2,500 in cash, a digital scale, 1.85 grams of marijuana and 6.93 grams of suspected methamphetamine, Betanio said.
Officers also found a .38-caliber pistol in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, police said.
Servin was taken into custody without incident. He is being held at the San Benito County Jail in lieu of $47,000 in bail.
If convicted of transporting a controlled substance, Servin could face up to four years in state prison.
